Hectic, difficult past two or so weeks.

Haven't had a lot of time to post over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago last Monday my wife had an oophorectomy having been diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene mutation in late August following a diagnosis of Grade 3 triple negative breast cancer (stage 3 breast cancer) early last year for which she had a lumpectomy a month after the diagnosis. On Monday this week she had a double/bilateral mastectomy and I have just brought her home where now starts the recovery process.

With two stays in the hospital and numerous visits to see doctors and nurses and clinicians prior to both operations and follow-up appointments to come, looking after my wife while she recovers and doing the things that need to be down around the house including looking after a cats and birds, spare time will be in short supply in the coming weeks.

I share this as my wife gets ready to undergo surgery in the coming weeks, including an oophorectomy and a double/bilateral mastectomy, having been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in March, 2013 and in August this year being told she has the BRCA1 gene mutation.
